About Us

Photo of Sean Emerson

Sean Emerson is a lifelong resident of Four Corners, where he blogs about his community at Around The Corners.

Sean is a frequent contributor to Greater Greater Washington and has served on the board of Action Committee for Transit since 2016. He developed the idea for a Better BRT during an internship at the Coalition for Smarter Growth.

In his day job, Sean serves as a legislative assistant to a member of the House of Delegates. Sean’s previous educational and work experience includes history, political science, and geographic information systems (GIS mapping).

Sebastian Smoot grew up in Montgomery County through most of his life.

He advocates for better investments and greater activism in the eastern part of the county through his blog, Growing East County. His enthusiasm for transit is rivaled by his daughters’, who loathe being strapped into carseats and prefer riding on buses and trains.

In his day job, Sebastian designs water and wastewater treatment plants as an environmental engineer. He studied civil engineering in college, with a focus on transportation and construction.
